Move Well. Live Well

Our services

Adjustments

Chiropractic adjustments are used to restore normal joint motion, as well as decrease pain. Improper joint movement interferes with movement quality and can lead to pain and/or tissue damage. Spinal and extremity adjustments are utilized at Modern Movement Chiropractic & Rehab.

Corrective Exercise

Once a joint has more range of motion, it is important to improve control and stabilize the joint teaching quality of movement. Corrective exercise is used in the office and at home to provide longer-lasting relief.

Soft Tissue

Soft tissue is utilized to increase the range of motion of muscles and joints, helping to restore proper motion and increase the quality of movement. Muscles can also become adhered to nerves, causing “sciatica” or “carpal tunnel” symptoms making soft tissue treatments important to free up nerves and decrease symptoms. Dr. Walder is an Active Release Techniques provider.

X-Ray

X-ray services are available. These services are used on a case-by-case basis depending on what is found during the initial history and exam.

Techniques

  • Motion palpation is style of adjusting taught by the Motion Palpation Institute. It involves feeling which joints are "stiff" or do not move well, then adjusting those key areas. Some patients are hypermobile or move to much in certain areas, and motion palpation helps to identify when a patient actually needs more stability instead of an adjustment.

  • ART is the global leader in non invasive soft tissue and nerve treatment, including strains, sprains, and other musculoskeletal disorders.. Hands-on, movement-based ART treatment is spcifically designed to quickly reduce pain and restore function. Dr. Walder is currently Spine Level 1 Certified.

  • McKenzie therapy allows patients to be safely assessed and treated for orthopedic injuries. Joints need to move to through full range of motion, and McKenzie Therapy is a safe way to repeatedly move patients through full range of motion without an adjustment. It is used early in care to help find self-management strategies, increase patients confidence in movement, decrease pain, and increase range of motion.

  • DNS is used to retrain movement, helping patients to better control joints and muscles, and importantly increase stability after an adjustment or soft tissue treatment.

  • Neurodynamics is used to assess how nerves “slide/glide” as well as tension. It is then used to mobilize nerves and restore proper motion to the nerve tissue to decrease pain and increase range of motion.

  • Dry needling is a treatment that uses a very small diameter needle placed into painful soft tissue such as muscles, tendons, and ligaments. The needle then improves blood flow to the affected area, improves range of motion and function while decreasing muscle tension, pain, and inflammation. Looking for more information? Click here.
